A walk on the beach
A meeting of sorts
Strong waves washing over
What moves and what not
People run, walk, play games
Dogs roll in the sand
My mind’s on my friend
New concepts at hand
My glasses hang loose
From the top of my shirt
We get to the pier
And see they’ve escaped
To find rosy tints
Meet blue jellyfish
Or help a blind turtle
Fulfill a fond wish
I trace back my steps
Scan mounts of debris
Shells, plastic and tar
Lost toys, dying bees
And then, here they are
Pristine and intact
Not lost in the waves
Not stepped on or cracked
A lesson in faith
Seek, ye shall find
Small wonders appear
To pause and remind
